My passion for finance started when I landed my first real job working at a bank. I quickly realized how emotional customers would get when discussing money issues. I realized a lot of us (including ME!) choose the easy path of burying our heads in the sand and hoping things come out ok. This often leads to poor financial decisions, including impulsively buying things because we “deserve” them.
When I sat down one day and really looked at my spending habits I realized my money had power over me, rather than the other way around. I was letting my emotions rule my life and I did not want to feel that way anymore. I also realized my personal values and goals weren’t reflected in my spending habits. Fast forward to now, I’ve been in the financial industry for 10 years and have found a way to take the emotion out of money and use it as a tool to live my life and feel empowered by my money choices!
